I had surgery Nov ‘21. I’m 5’1 175 had sleeve surgery in 2015(lost 80). Due to saggy skin on my abdomen I decided finally get a TT, Lipo to my back and booty. 4 days after surgery my stomach started to turn black. Went to the ER and started Wound Care, Necrosis and ischemia set in leading to skin death. Finally 6 mo later I’m closed but experiencing oozing from my bellybutton and lots of swelling. It looks weird bcuz I have skin loss. Help!! Should I get a revision?! I’m scared now

Dear plynwfire,I understand your concern. However, without a proper assessment, it would be difficult to determine what went wrong. It is best that you visit your plastic surgeon for further assessment or ask for a second opinion. Only after a thorough examination, you can get proper recommendations and advice.

I am so very sorry about your struggles. You do need to be seen and find out what you have not yet healed and are still draining. there may be some permanent stitch that needs to be removed.  Things can be done to improve your abdomen.

Something doesn’t seem right about your situation. I am wondering if you smoke cigarettes or use nicotine in anyway? that would explain the pretty severe complication you had.
Aggressive liposuction in conjunction with a full tummy tuck can also increase the risk for wound healing complications.
If you smoke or use nicotine Products then I would not recommend considering revision surgery or I would not perform it.
If your belly button is draining then that area has not healed properly and you need to do wound care. they will need to be explored and kept clean in order for it to heal. whether that’s done with the irrigation or cleaning it out with a Q-tip or applying vacuum assistance closure something needs to be done.
Your plastic surgeon is responsible for the outcome of the procedure.
I suggest you follow up with him or her.
Every vision may be indicated but I would wait at least a year until you’re completely healed and that means no drainage.
