Can your garment be too tight and ruin your BBL results? (Photo)

Question

I was sized and got this garmet accordingly for my BBL sirgery. It feels so tight right now and I know some of it is due to swelling. Can a garmet be too tight and jeopardize the shape that you want?

Hi. 
Thank you for your question. A garment has to be thight after surgery to prevent the accumulation of fluids in the areas treated with liposuction. However you should let your surgeon know your concerns and see if he has a different garment for you in case he considers it the best solution.

Follow your plastic surgeon's advice.  Plastic surgeon preferences for compression garments and length of time to wear differ.  I typically ask patients to use adjustable garments with multiple bands so that tension can be adjusted and the areas of liposuction are less likely to get a fluid collection. your garment will not affect your final results. Your garment will not affect your final results. Pressure garments or not nearly as important as to made out to be.In your case it's more an issue of comfort and practicality.From time to time and patience I'm garments that are too tight in certain areas. One option I have employed a few times is to make small cuts in the fabric to release the pressure in the tightest areas.  Best,Mats Hagstrom, MD
