Hi Veronicakkkkk,Thank you for your question. Liposuction results depend on using multiple access sites to deliver a smooth result. Using one incision in the umbilicus will likely leave you with contour irregularities that look far worse than port sites. I agree with the other Plastic Surgeons here and 3 incisions is the minimum I would use to do abdominal liposuction. One in the umbilicus and two down low in the groin crease.Hope that helps.Best,Dr. B
Hello, thanks for your question and provided information. For you to get optimal results, it is necessary in most of the cases, to do many incisions to get rid of the abdominal fat, consult with your board certified plastic surgeon first. Advantages:One treatment may be all you need to reshape problem areasTreat more areas—and larger areas—in one procedureMay be performed with either local or general anesthesiaMore consistent and predictable result than noninvasive treatmentsLiposuction, sometimes referred to as "lipo" by patients, slims and reshapes specific areas of the body by removing excess fat deposits and improving your body contours and proportion.Different areas of treatment:ThighsHips and buttocksAbdomen and waistUpper armsBackInner kneeChest areaCheeks, chin and neckCalves and anklesLiposuction can be performed alone or along with other plastic surgery procedures, such as a facelift, breast reduction or a tummy tuck. What liposuction can do?Liposuction is not a treatment for obesity or a substitute for proper diet and exercise. It is also not an effective treatment for cellulite—the dimpled skin that typically appears on the thighs, hips and buttocks—or loose saggy skin.
The best way to minimize scars is to make the fewest number of incisions possible without compromising the quality of work done. I have found that the minimum number of incisions is 3. I have done this procedure several hundred times, and, though requiring mastery, it can be done this way. These are about 5 mm in length and are difficult to detect at one year. Dear Veronicakkkkk, liposuction technique depends a lot on surgeon's preference and experience. Some use multiple incisions, while others use one incision. If you are considering a surgery, I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. You will get the best recommendations after a thorough examination.Daniel Barrett, MD, MHA, MS Certified, American Board of Plastic Surgery Member, Am. Society of Plastic Surgery
Hi Veronica,There certainly could be only one incision in the belly button but most surgeons with enough experience know that crisscrossing an area of liposuction from two different directions helps provide a flatter surface with less irregularities in the skin. You will certainly need at least an incision in the pubic region which is below the belt line and as was stated in the photos caption “not visible on the abdomen” since technically it is not the abdomen but more commonly referred to as the pubic region or mons. It may be that that second photo which shows a difference in the garment band width is possibly to cover scars that were placed in that area or in the groin crease which is fairly common as well. You do not need them anywhere above the waist line other than the belly button which heals imperceptibly.Best of luck.
Multiple incisions are often necessary to achieve optimal results. However each incision is about 1/4 inch in length and therefore is rarely noticeable once it has healed. Best, Dr. Luong
Thanks for your question. Stomach liposuction can be achieved with a single incision depending on where your fat lies. Sometimes you may need more than one incision to get the optimal result if the fat deposits are in areas where it is difficult to reach and you may need a different angle. Please consult in-person with a board certified plastic surgeon to discuss your options. Best of luck!
Hello, thanks for your question and provided information as well... It will be better for your final results if there are more than a belly button incision, three more incisions on your lower abdomen will give you optimal results in manner of abdominal liposuction and contour, it will be good for you to consult with your board certified plastic surgeon.
It is absolutely possible to do abdominal liposuction with a single umbilical incision. That said results are often improved if every area can be approached from more than one angle. This is the primary reason we use more than one incision. In certain cases can you ask men not be long enough but when it comes to the bellybutton it's in the center of the abdomen and all areas on the front can be reached.Unlike most doctors we do not use capitals to make her incisions. We use an instrument called asking punch. He creates around opening about the size of a pencil lead it's 2 mm.When it heals it creates faint tiny circle that looks almost identical to a small freckle.Another interesting trick is to put the incisions asymmetrically. That makes them look much less surgical. With the use of the skin punch we rarely if ever have any concerns of patients having visible scars. That said, the color of skin and stations regardless of technique take many many months to fade out.Sometimes a year or even longer.Much of how scars look have to do with skin complexion.Patient with very fair skin tend to form in with minimally visible scars.Best,Mats Hagstrom M.D.
Hi, and thank you for the questionBased on the information and photos you send us, i really think the incisions should not be an issue because even if multiple incisions were needed the are normally in easy to hide (right on top of the pubic hair, on the belly bottom and so on), and they are really small. As you can understand studies and test are needed to see if you are clear for surgery but in general, if you seek the attention of a certified plastic surgeon, you should have a great result and a normal life. So feel free to contact us for further evaluation. Thank you again and have a great day
A brazilian butt lift does just that, helps you achieve a more rounded figure with a smaller waist to hips proportion. Just as narrowing the waist enhances the buttocks, widening the hips also enhances the buttocks (and further 'narrows' the waist). Be sure to consult with a board certified ...
Hello, thank you for your question and photos. From the pictures alone it does not seem like you would have caused damage, rather these types of indents are normal from wearing tight garments, even certain clothing can sometimes cause similar indents on the skin. To be safe however, and above...
Great question! There is a lot of conflicting information online, indeed, and good Brazilian Butt lift results really are highly dependent on the surgical techniques employed during harvesting, processing, and reinjecting of the patient's fat. While this is a somewhat over-simplified short exp...
