Had lipo in abdomen, hip, upper back, inner thighs as well as a mastoplexy with implant replacement & bbl 5 weeks ago. Got a new zip up compression garment because I was told the Spanx I was wearing weren't tight enough & the size small was impossible to get in to. The 2nd day I wore it I sat a lot & it creased at the waist. When I took it off that night, I noticed a indent in my abdomen & what looks like increased swelling above & below the indent. Have I caused damage to myself?
Answer: New compression garment left indent in waist from bunching while sitting. Have I caused damage? Should I stop wearing it? Hello, thanks for your question and provided information. You can use your compression garment, but you can use a cotton tshirt inside, with epi foam or compression to reduce marks. Always garments feel tight and hard on fabrics. Good luck! Advantages: One treatment may be all you need to reshape problem areas Treat more areas—and larger areas—in one procedure May be performed with either local or general anesthesia More consistent and predictable result than noninvasive treatments Liposuction, sometimes referred to as "lipo" by patients, slims and reshapes specific areas of the body by removing excess fat deposits and improving your body contours and proportion. Different areas of treatment: Thighs Hips and buttocks Abdomen and waist Upper arms Back Inner knee Chest area Cheeks, chin and neck Calves and ankles Liposuction can be performed alone or along with other plastic surgery procedures, such as a facelift, breast reduction or a tummy tuck. What liposuction can do? Liposuction is not a treatment for obesity or a substitute for proper diet and exercise. It is also not an effective treatment for cellulite—the dimpled skin that typically appears on the thighs, hips and buttocks—or loose saggy skin.

Answer: New compression garment left indent in waist from bunching while sitting. Have I caused damage? Should I stop wearing it? Thank you for your question. Every office is different in their recommendations. We measure the patient preop and order the appropriate garment which we put on the patient at the end of surgery. The next day I place Epifoam (soft, thick foam) inside the garment over the abdomen and lower back. This avoids the hooks or zipper making dents into the swollen tissues. Discuss your concerns with your surgeon. Good luck with your healing.

Answer: Compression Garment Indent Hello, thank you for your question and photos. From the pictures alone it does not seem like you would have caused damage, rather these types of indents are normal from wearing tight garments, even certain clothing can sometimes cause similar indents on the skin. To be safe however, and above all to know if your compression garment is too tight and if you need a new one, you must consult with your plastic surgeon. An in person appointment may even be necessary to determine if you should keep wearing this compression garment, perhaps with a t shirt inside it to lessen the marks on your skin, or if you need to be fitted for a new one. Good luck!
