At one week after surgery you are seeing a great deal of expected swelling.  First, be patient for several weeks to let the swelling go down.  Some initial overcorrection after otoplasty is common and expected to relax gradually.  Follow up as directed with your surgeon to monitor your progress.

so they do look al little narrow in the mid section but I suspect this will even out over the next few days now the dressings are gone. It does slightly depend on the technique used and some surgeons use glue to hold the ears back while they heal, all of which will affect how they look right now. Hope that helps Adam Goodwin

First of all, congratulations on your otoplasty!
Patience is a virtue that you surely need during this period of your recovery, as it would take some time before you can see the final results of your ear surgery.
The telephone effect or deformity is actually common after otoplasty, and is caused by an overly tight setback near the center of the ear. In time, the tightness will relax and result in a more natural ear shape, so at this point, I don’t think you should be worried. Just make sure that you continue protecting your ears even after the bandages have come off.
