Base is a bit wide - am I a candidate for alarplasty? (Photos)

It could be done but I’m afraid without a full rhinoplasty your nostrils might look out of proportion. They’re not really too big anyway

The axis of your nostrils is up and back rather than anterior-posterior. An alarplasty would lower the back part of your nostrils to make them mare anterior-posterior. It's just a matter of preference!

Can an alar plasty be done as an isolated procedure? An alar plasty can be done as an isolated procedure, under local anesthesia, in the office. Bear in mind however that the relationship between the nostril base and the tip should be akin to a triangle. If the nostril base is narrowed and the tip remains somewhat wide the relationship may become too rectangular rather than triangular.
