Hello. In the past I had 360 moderate profile silicone under the muscle implants. About 1 week ago I had breast implant exchange surgery to a 485 high profile silicone under the muscle implant. There is virtually no change in my breast shape or size. Maybe a tiny bit more volume to the top but so minimal no one including myself or the nurses can tell. Which size should I have gotten to see an actual difference in Atleast 1-2 sizes larger? Thank you !"
Answer: Choosing Implant Size for Noteworthy Difference in Breast Size (Previous Remove & Replace) Thank you for your question regarding the size of implant you should choose to see an actual difference of at least 1 to 2 cup sizes larger. When undergoing a breast implant exchange, a change of at least 100 cc should be made to see a noticeable difference. In your case, if you did not see a size increase with the 485 cc implant, I would then suggest considering an implant 100 cc larger or more. During your procedure, your surgeon may have done a capsulectomy which would result in a smaller result than you had anticipated. Please discuss with your surgeon further. I recommend waiting at least 4-6 months before considering a revision. I wish you the best of luck. I hope this helps to answer your question regarding whether you should see a difference in size with your recent implant exchange. Sincerely, Dr. Katzen

Answer: Size A 125 cc increase in size would show almost a cup increase, especially with a higher profile. First, make sure this is the size you got. Second, take a better look at your photos.

Answer: Implant size Dear lauraleep, breast implant type and sizing selection is a complicated process and requires a detailed consultation that includes a discussion of your goals, a detailed examination, and a lengthy discussion. But the decision will always start and end with the patient. When it comes to sizing, we have all of our patients find 3 photos of their desired breast size. We ask for naked breast photos because clothing can obscure the true size (push up bras). Next, we consult with patients and go over the photos and take detailed breast measurements during a physical exam. Next, we using a sizing algorithm to determine a range of implants that will work based on the exam and the measurements.Lastly, during the operation, we use silicone sizers in the operating room to see how the size actually looks in the breast. We sit the patient up in the operating room, while asleep of course, and compare the sizer result with their desired look photos. If it is too small, we start the process over with a slightly larger implant. We don't stop until we get the perfect match.Of all of my breast augmentation patients, every one of them has been happy with their size due to this detailed and meticulous process. You don't want to invest time and money into a result that is either too big or too small. You should discuss your concerns with a board-certified plastic surgeon and make sure that your surgeon understands your goals.
