Sometimes I will leave the splints in place for 14 days but we typically remove sutures on the face around 7 days post op to avoid the sutures leaving marks on the skin. You may want to confirm with your surgeon if you do in fact have sutures that need to be removed and if they have any concerns about leaving them in that long. Its possible they used dissolving sutures and they will fall out on their own.
Thanks for your question. We usually recommend having your sutures removed in the 7-9 day range to avoid permanent marks, or dots of scar, where the sutures were. There are no other concerns that I can think of.
Every surgeon is different and you will have to Ask the surgeon you trusted your surgery too. I typically remove the external cast and internal splints at 1 week. In rare instances I leave the internal splints for up to 2 to 3 weeks in cases of septal perforation repair. I hope this helps, Dr. Ardeshirpour

Dear Madison TaylorThanks for the question. In my opinion you need to wait 2 weeks and couple days because after 2 weeks the plasters off. Anything goes wrong you should consult your doctor. I wish you all the best.
