No period allowed during Rhinoplasty operation?

I am visiting Formé Clinic in Prague soon and I was told I am not allowed to be on my period during my operation (Rhinoplasty). They've said it's for all operations but I'm not sure why? Does anyone know why it's so important that I'm not on my period ? Thanks!!

Recommend that you follow your plastic surgeon's guidance. My pre-op guidelines specify to stop tanning (including tanning beds) one to two weeks before surgery. Whenever you are outside, wear SPF 30 or higher.
