It was recommended that massaging the bridge of my nose after i had rasping done to correct a residual boney bump. After the procedure in March i had some swelling which my surgeon said is a combination of swelling and scar tissue from lifting the skin of the bone.

Messaging your nasal dorsum should only be done over focal areas that are prominent; otherwise you risk lowering your dorsum unnecessarily; The message is meant to ensure that scar tissue does not form in an area that might be slightly more prominent than desirable. it is only effective for the first month and overdoing it may actually create unnecessary swelling.

If your surgery was in March, then there is still residual swelling present in the dorsum of the nose at this time.  This may get better over time but rasping can, though rare, cause inflammation and scar tissue that can make the bump that was reduced by the rasping come back.For now, I would recommend continue the massaging, and let time decide if further treatment is warranted, but in the short term, I would not recommend further intervention.
