From my first contact at the front desk to the warmth and courtesy of the doctor . Adequate communication during the long wait for the Covid pandemic. The entire process was a blissful experience. I am so glad my procedure was handled by this team. You cannot even tell anything was done to my face. Excellent job.
Great experience. Very professional. Astonished at the outcome and how much better my quality of life is from this change. I would highly recommend Dr. Shipchandler and his staff. I felt well prepared with the expectations of the procedure and outcome. No complications. My only regret is waiting so long to do this.
Dr. Shipchandler and his nurse Katy are an amazing team! Dr. Shipchandler really listened to me, took into consideration what I was asking for and what I wanted my results to be. He is awesome, he is very sincere and works with you to create a result you are both happy with. Also, I think it's worth mentioning that he is very involved in academic medicine, he speaks at conferences around the country and the world, and he collaborates with other services and surgeons on state-of-the-art procedures. I've read some really impressive articles about him online. I think the fact that he is so involved in academics is a really valuable quality in a surgeon!!
I was in terrible shape when I found dr shipchandler,he helped me breathe normally again,I feel so great,he changed my life for the positive,I’m so happy to feel like me again. If you need help,he is the dr to see,
I experienced a complete (most severe) Bell’s palsy. My journey was pretty tough in the beginning. I lost my smile. That was very emotional for me. My hometown ENT referred me to Dr Shipchandler. He was so kind and willing to try to get my face back in shape. My left side was paralyzed permanently. Initially, he repaired my nose to give it more uniformity. The only surgery originally was a two part surgery that would be scheduled six months apart to repair my smile. That was not something I wanted to do. But, eventually I decided to give it a try. Now, there is a surgery that can be completed with an overnight stay in the hospital. Also, just one surgery instead of two. Within six to eight months there was a significant improvement! Now, two years later, I’m amazed at the uniformity of my face and I can smile again! Dr Shipchandler has been so encouraging and positive during all I have gone through. You cannot see any scarring at all! He is an amazing surgeon!! I’m so happy I’ve had this procedure. I feel like it really gave me so much back that had been lost.
Amazing-Dr. Shipchandler and staff are exceptional. I had a lot of anxiety about surgery-Dr. Shipchandler and staff eased all of my nerves and he was able to resolve my problems perfectly. Not only can I breath better than ever-my insecurities about my nose are gone. I would be confident to have Dr Shipchandler perform surgery for me again.
Dr. Shipchandler did an outstanding job on fixing the issues with my nose. I wasn't able to breathe before and he was able to fix all the problems with one surgery. I breathe better than ever. My husband can attest to it! I sleep soundly at night and don't snore at all. I had a deviated septum, an enlarged turbinate and both nasal valves collapsed. He diagnosed all of these issues with one quick look inside my nose. He has outstanding bedside manner and it was if talking with my best friend. Very, very friendly!
I highly recommend Dr. Shipchandler! I had a face lift and blepharoplasty 4 weeks ago and the results are amazing. The bruising post op was so minimal, nearly nonexistent. I credit his surgical skills to the fact that I never took a painkiller. Really not painful. I had friends who had facelifts by a plastic surgeon whose techniques required 24 hour icing very 15 minutes all day and all night post op. Dr. Shipchandler requires no ice because of his surgical skills. Amazing recovery and amazing results. No more turkey gobbler neck, nor jowls. I have a smooth jaw line. I look considerably younger but not fake. VERY PLEASED!!
I could not be happier with Shippy's care. He has an amazingly calm, gentle, and down-to-earth bedside manner. He is also extremely attentive and clearly wants what is best for his patients. He's great!
Dr. Shipchandler is a highly qualified plastic surgeon. He has a kind demeanor and is very professional. My revision rhinoplasty was quite complicated because there was a significant bent in my nose. He corrected it successfully and in the end I was very happy with his work. I highly recommend Dr. Shipchandler for rhinoplasty.
Thank you for your question. This is a VERY common question and comes up weekly in my practice. Insurance will likely not cover any part of an operation that is not important for you to breathe better. However, as you are seeking combined cosmetic and functional improvement to your nose, a surgeon may choose to reduce the cost of your cosmetic component since your insurance will also be billed for the functional portions of the operation. In our practice, we typically reduce cosmetic costs for noses by 1-2K if a functional component is also part of the procedure. Btw, you've made a good assessment of your nose in terms of the tip, ala and thinner!
Broken noses are the most common facial fracture. A nosebleed at the time of injury is a sign that your septum internally has suffered some damage but this does not necessarily require any treatment unless your nasal breathing is affected. External bruising, a new bump on the nose, crookedness are the most common signs for nasal bone fracture. However, possibly even more commonly is a separation of the upper lateral cartilage from the nasal bones which is still a "broken" nose but will be visible on any x-ray yet will still lead to crookedness and different appearance.
This answer may differ from surgeon to surgeon but here is my take:1. I recommend no strenuous activity or heavy lifting over 10 pounds for two weeks after surgery and no contact activities (activities that can damage your nose such as contact sports, etc) for 3 weeks after surgery.2. No nose blowing for 1 week\\3. Patient are typically happy and not very self-conscious with the appearance of there nose at 3 weeks after surgery, but swelling will persist for months afterwards and slowly go away over the course of the year.
Your question is a good one. If you desired significant reduction in your dorsal hump (which would have been a mistake in my opinion since your hump was not too large to begin with), then typically at three weeks it can be quite noticeable. If only slight/subtle changes were made to your dorsal hump, this can takes weeks/months to show the true result. Being patient is one of the hardest parts of having rhinoplasty performed, but your surgeon and his/her staff is there to help you through this process so stay in contact with them.
The rotation of your nasal tip can be changed during rhinoplasty with a variety of maneuvers. Age and gravity, however, are difficult variables to overcome that unfortunately we have no answer for...yet. Therefore, your tip of your nose will likely droop some over time but it can be lifted and strengthened in the desired position during rhinoplasty thus making the process of tip droop slower over time. Hope this helps.
