How long does it take to see result of Botox in glabellar line?

Hello, and thank you for the question. In general, it can take up to one week for the Botox to take effect. When seeking treatment with Botox, I would recommend choosing a board certified and experienced physician to perform the injections. Botox can take about a week or two for the full effect to become apparent. That's why I usually recommend a followup at the two week mark.

Thanks for your inquiry.  Most people will see an effect within 3-7 days; if after several weeks there is no apparent difference I'd recommend contacting your injector because you may simply need a higher dose.

Botox is a safe and reliable neuromodulator that is FDA approved for the vertical glabellar creases or "frown" lines. Approximately 15 to 20 units of Botox injected directly in the Corrugator muscles will soften and smooth the central brow area and diminish vertical lines in this area. This is an in-office procedure which takes about 15 minutes. It does take about 2 to 5 days to see the onset of action and about two weeks for the final result. Botox will last about 3 months in this area if injected in an appropriate amount and in the right areas.

The effect of Botox can be seen as early as 3 days however it can take up to 10-12 days for the full effect to take place. I typically have my first time Botox patients return for a follow up visit at 2 weeks to see if more Botox is needed.

It takes 7 -10 days to see the full results from Botox.  If after that time the area is still moving than you may need additional injections.

Typically Botox will start to take effect within a day or two, and the full effect will be evident in about a week.  Botox works by relaxing the muscles which cause dynamic facial wrinkles, so that these lines are no longer actively formed.  Sometimes for very deep creases, even when the muscle is at rest the line will be visible.
