Bumps around above 2 SIDES OF eyebrows.

Question

I am at 12 days out of Botox treatment for my 11 frown line. the nurse injected12 units in 3 areas. i see the bump around and above the eyebrow. is it normal? i am ver worried about this. please help. thanks

Prolonged bruising and swelling is uncommon after Botox injections, although any injection can result in some prolonged bruising and swelling.  It would be best to discuss your concern with your injector.

I have never seen a bump last more than a few minutes after botox. I suggest getting this looked at.  Best, Dr. Emer.

It is possible to get a small bump at the injection site when Botox is injected.  Sometimes this can last just a few days but sometimes it will last longer.  Normally this will resolve completely over time.  You should contact the physician who treated you if you feel it is not improving.

I have never seen a "bump" this long after Botox. It is possible that you have a hematoma that is taking a long time to resolve but that would be unusual from such a small injection. If the nurse works with a doctor, go see them for a consultation about this. You might want to have a doctor do your injections in the future., Nurses can learn to do injections but when you have a problem or a bad result they are not generally the best qualified to take care of the problems.

People will often get what are called "bee stings" after Botox but these generally go down within an hour. Someone came to see me once after an injection by someone else because they have a large bump that wasn't going away. It turned out to be a hematoma that I was able to help resolve. Your "bumps" could be this, but to have 2 with only a few Botox injections seems odd. I'd return to a physician to be examined in person.
