Bump around and above eyebrow after frown line was treated. (photo)

I just had my first Botox injection 12 units for my 11. I see some changes , especially the bumps above and around my eyebrowns on both sides. I used ice pad to cool the swelling but it does not help. Is this normal or will it go away soon ? Please help

There are no contraindications for Botox treatments when one has a history of Herpetic lesions. If an active lesion or outbreak is present it is best to avoid injection until it is resolved. One can also get a script for an antiviral medication like Valtrex to suppress and prevent flare ups.

If you look at the vial you should clearly see an expiration date on it. There is also an expiry date and lot number on the packaging.

Botox is the most common cosmetic injectable being currently performed.  If you are having Botox performed from a board certified dermatologist there are no associated risks of viruses or cancers.
