To address your first question related to genetics: yes, it is possible to have a slightly different nose than your parents, so just because your parents’ noses look a certain way doesn’t necessarily mean that yours will look the same, although it probably has some similar characteristics. As for the bump on your nose, if this is something that has appeared within the last year or so, it’s probably not related to genetics. The good news is that a plastic surgeon should be able to help restore a smoother, straighter shape to your nose through rhinoplasty. Thank you for your question. Yes, it is possible. Unfortunately it is impossible to know what caused the bump - genetics, injury, or even a combination of both is possible. If the bump is rather bothersome, this is something that can be changed with a rhinoplasty procedure.  I would suggest contacting a rhinoplasty specialist in your area for a consultation.
