I put temporary fillers on my checks 6 months ago. I woke up with my cheek filler swollen. Is that normal? (photo)

Thank you for your question! When you are experiencing internal infection or inflammation it may occur around the area where the filler was injected therefore the area swells. I would advise you to see your provider as well as your family doctor to find and treat the cause of your swelling. Best of luck!

it depends on the filler that was put in. Some fillers can have a delayed reaction and the cause is unknown. Discuss it with your injecting physician. Good luck

Thanks for your question. Sorry to hear you have the flu. There are instances when you have a cold or infection and the area of filler can become inflamed too. The area can become hot, tender and swollen. If you have a bacaterial infection, such as sinusitis, then you may want to take antibiotics to clear the infection.  Hot compresses can help sometimes. The area can improve as you feel better. I would see your doctor if it continues or worsens to make sure you don't need antibiotics.
