Why do my eyes look fine in some pictures but asymmetrical In others? (photos)

Dear imbtfcanjt,You are noticing an interesting phenomenon that is very common. When a person looks in the mirror, that is the image that they are used to seeing and have been looking at their entire life. When they look at a photo, that image is flipped from what they are used to seeing in the mirror and their asymmetries look more noticeable. You may be noticing the same thing with your camera phone. Put a sticker on one cheek and repeat the photos and see if that helps you see if the images are flipping. You will probably prefer the image that is oriented the same as your mirror reflection because that is the one you are most used to. All patients have some asymmetry and that is normal. Another fun experiment is to do a split image made up of 2 right sides and 2 left sides. If can be pretty entertaining to see how different the 2 sides are.Take care!
