Deep lines under my eyes only when I smile, would Botox have any effect? (photos)

Hello,Thank you for your question and sharing your photo.You can try a small 1-2 units of botox under the eye to help soften the wrinkles with minimal, if any, side effects. There is a circular muscle around the eye called orbicularis oculi. The treatment area is considered off label but the lateral portion of this muscle is frequently treated as "crow's feet."I recommend consulting with an experienced board-certified injector.Hope this helps!

Since these lines are due to dynamic facial expression, neuromodulator, such as Botox and Dysport, should work very well to mitigate them. The amount of neuromodulator should be conservative, as over-treatment in this area with neuromodulator will cause lower eyelid retraction and thus dry eye. 

Wrinkle Blockers under the eyes (Xeomin, Botox, Dysport) can work fantastic for wrinkles like you've got.  If you smile very expressively they will still show to a certain degree, but I would expect significant improvement with good placement.  Medical grade skincare like A.G.E. from SkinCeuticals also helps.  Starting young helps your skin keep from getting deeply wrinkled and creased, so you are planning well.  Best regards.

I do think Botox would likely help this. I would also recommend platelet rich plasma (PRP) and a good skin care regimen. My favorite eye cream is Neocutis Lumierre. Expensive but very good.

In small doses well placed  Botox injection might help your deep lines under your eyes. I would also consider PRP treatment and good anti aging eye creams.

The wrinkles under your eyes that occur when you smile are due to contraction of the orbicularis oculi muscle. injecting only 2 units of Botox at 2 to 3 sites just under the skin along this wrinkles of each eye can help for 3-4 months.

Hi thank you for your question. Botox in very small doses can soften the muscle response in this area. I do not see "volume issues" in your pictures...but I have only your frontal view. Our facility is having enormous success with PRP. "Platelet Rich Plasma" to soften under eye issues. We inject your own plasma, no foreign substances. Bring you back in 5 weeks for a second and perhaps final treatment. Please investigate this on the internet as it is a wonderful collagen builder. Good luck!

Hi NicholaKate,You are describing perfectly what we call dynamic lines! These are lines that form when you smile, frown or squint; in other words, when muscles contract to create an expression. These lines are what Botox fix.It's a good idea to have Botox done early so that the wrinkles don't become "fixed". A common analogy is that of a scrunched piece of paper.
