Great question! Every surgeon prices their procedures differently, which explains why the cost for a rhinoplasty with one physician might be different than with others. There are many factors that are taken into consideration when creating a quote for surgery. The doctors level of expertise, the complexity of the case, and the techniques needed to provide a successful outcome are a few of the contributing factors. With my practice, the price of a rhinoplasty varies from patient to patient, because I completely customize each of my rhinoplasty procedures to meet their individual needs. There isn’t a cookie cutter procedure that I do for everyone. Instead I create a unique plan for surgery based on each patients anatomy, and their ideal result. It’s safe to say that when it comes to having a rhinoplasty, you get what you pay for. You want to find a surgeon who is experienced, and who has the artistic and technical skills necessary to provide you with the best result possible. It's also important to note that the main goal is to achieve the desired result the first time you have surgery because the cost of re-doing a less than ideal outcome can be significantly more expensive.
Rhinoplasty prices vary greatly because the rhinoplasty procedure itself encompasses a wide range of techniques that can be performed to different extents. Therefore the cost range is pretty wide from $6000-$12,000. My recommendation is to first find qualified surgeons that are board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery or the American Board of Otolaryngology. Find one or two surgeons you trust, then compare prices between them. Factors that influence the price include:1. Location - Will it be performed in a hospital with an overnight stay, an independent out- patient facility or a doctors office?2. Type of Anesthesia - IV sedation or General Anesthesia? Will a board certified anesthesiologist or a nurse anesthetist be used, or an RN? 3. Experience and training of your surgeon. The best trained (and longest) would be a surgeon board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, but also consider American Board of Otolaryngology trained surgeons 4. Length and Complexity of Surgery - Tip Rhinoplasty only or complete rhinoplasty, open or closed technique, deviated septum repair,or breathing problems corrected, , how long, ?etc
Rhinoplasty is a complicated procedure requiring experience and meticulous technique. If it is performed well by an experienced Surgeon, it's not going to be inexpensive. Since it is an elective cosmetic surgery, the Surgeon in question will naturally charge what the market will bear. This is likely to be more expensive in some areas, and less in others. The range is likely to be in the $5-$10k range, depending on the location. A very cheap Rhinoplasty is probably one best avoided.
Hello Caroline69,Thanks for your question.Cost of rhinoplasty varies for many reasons:1. Location of the surgeon2. Reputation and experience of the surgeon3. Difficulty of surgery - rhinoplasty is the most difficult cosmetic surgery to perform and some surgeons are specialists while other surgeons just "dabble."4. The time it might take to perform the rhinoplasty - anesthesia and facility charges are often time-based5. Costs of medical care in general in the community (eg. costs in the US vs. the Phillipines, etc.)I always recommend that a rhinoplasty patient visit several surgeons in consultation and pick the surgeon that they feel best fits them as a person and has the skillset to accomplish what the patient realistically desires as the goal of their rhinoplasty.I hope this was helpful.Take care,Dr. Shah
Rhinoplasty is a very difficult operation. As has often been said, it’s not difficult to do a rhinoplasty, but it is difficult to get a good result and I think that really says it all. The time spent in preparation and in analysis and the skill put into that before even starting surgery and then, of course, the technical skill of rhinoplasty is difficult to acquire and takes many, many years of dedication and really specialisation if you want to get the top results. So I think that gives some explanation as to the personal investment some surgeons will put it to rhinoplasty.
There are many variables that go into pricing in cosmetic surgery. You will find the greatest variability in facelift and rhinoplasty because these are the 2 most complex operations in cosmetic surgery. Therefore, you have 'world famous' surgeons who probably charge $50,000 or more which greatly widens the distribution of cost. Time is also important (and more objective) - hospital and anesthetic fees are charged by the hour, so this also contributes to price variability. And lastly geography is also important - a rhinoplasty in beverly hills will on average cost you more than a rhinoplasty in the rural mid-west. I would be weary of any prices that are abnormally low, or abnormally high. Good luck!
The cost of a rhinoplasty is directly determined by the amount of time it takes to perform the procedure in an operating room, the amount of time under anesthesia monitored by an anesthesiologist, and the surgeon's professional fee for performing the rhinoplasty procedure including all of postoperative followups. A two-hour rhinoplasty will cost less than eight-hour rhinoplasty, so it depends upon who is performing the surgery. Shop quality, not price since the nose is the most prominent feature on your face, and rhinoplasty is one of the most difficult procedures to perform correctly in the entire field of cosmetic surgery. Having cosmetic surgery is not exactly like buying a car, where you can compare the price of the same, identical model in different shops. With a rhinoplasty, every surgeon would offer you a different product. The price varies based on the experience of the surgeon, the clinical setting, the exact procedure performed and even other things most patients ignore, like the amount of time that your surgeon will spend with you and how available he/she will be after the procedure if you need to ask questions or a quick consultation in person. As a general rule, the most expensive surgeon is not necessarily the best, but on the other end the cheapest one is almost never the greatest choice. Do your homework, see few qualified surgeons near you and you will soon realise that there are differences with the product they offer. Good luck!
Thank you for the question and costs vary from city to city and office to office but are generally negotiable. So go on some consults, look at photos, compare fees and find the surgeon at the right price for you.Dr. Corbin
It varies because it is usually elective cosmetic surgery, paid up front. We are in a free market economy and the doctor can set the fee wherever he/she wants. Overhead costs vary greatly, by geography. Surgeons have marketable skills that they give value to. These elements go into determining fees.
You should consult with an expert nasal surgeon who can evaluate both the shape and the function of your nose and make recommendations for correcting your condition. It may be as simple as using some mild medications by you may need minor surgical intervention. Good luck!
Hi,from that hat picture you provided is not very obvious!could you put a basal view of your nose pls?best wishesMr J Taherychester UK
