Answer: Unwanted ‘Chipmunk Smile’ After Botox Treatment Thank you very much for your question. In rare cases, when too much Botox is used to treat Crow’s Feet along the corners of the eyes, or if the placement is not correct, the cheek muscles may be temporarily affected. In these cases, as the cheek rises when you smile, a ‘Chipmunk’ look will occur. Over the next three to four months, as the Botox wears off, your smile should return to normal. If you have any further concerns, I suggest contacting your provider for evaluation. While side-effects can happen with any provider, it is important to only place your trust in a board certified plastic surgeon, who offers the best chance for satisfying, aesthetic results.

Answer: Chipmunk smile? Thanks for your question. You had a low dose of Botox, but it’s not impossible for the Botox to have affected your smile muscles through migration of the product after it was injected. I suggest you go and speak with your injector to see what can be done. Perhaps, with such a small dose it may not take 12 weeks for it to get better. Your injector can tell you more.

Answer: Boox and chipmunk smile If Botox is injected for the crow's feet at the dose that "freezes" that part of the muscle then the cheek soft tissue that moves up during the smile encounters a block of unyielding "frozen" part. That creates a typical chipmunk look. Therefore, it appears that in your case the dose was too high and/or the injection points were not the most fortunate. It is impossible to predict the response to any given dose of Botox and that it's why starting with a small dose always makes sense. Good luck!

Answer: Injection location Some clients are more pre-disposed to the ‘chipmunk effect’ than others depending on their cheek volume and muscular activity. If the lowest injection point for Botox crows feet treatment is too low (especially on those most predisposed) then the muscles bunch up and create this effect. There may not be much thst can be done now, however as you had a small dose it should wear off quickly. I hope this helps
