I had a rhinoplasty done 9 days ago to make my nose thinner and pointy. Now my nose is wider, especially at the bridge and my nostrils are uneven. I'm really nervous that it's not swollen because when I touch my bridge the skin is really soft and I read that if the skin feels hard then it's swollen. I'm not happy with my results at all, I hate my new nose :( I'm already considering a revision. When can I get a revision?
Answer: WIde bridge I believe you have an inverted V deformity as the bones have not been moved inwards after removing the bump . This will not settle with time and needs surgical adjustment to weaken /break the bones and repair of the upper lateral cartilages

Answer: Still Swollen It is completely normal to be concerned after a rhinoplasty. You were hoping to see a new nose, and what you have today isn't what you expected to see. But rest assured that at 9 days post-surgery, it is too soon to tell what your nose will look like. Most patients don't understand that it will take several months for the nose to heal completely. You are likely still swollen from surgery, and it will be several months before your nose is completely healed. Most surgeons won't consider a revision until a year after the original surgery, so please be patient and know that you are still healing. If after 6 months you are still unhappy, then meet with your surgeon to see what your options are. I would also recommend meeting with a few other facial plastic surgeons so that you can get other opinions. Be sure to meet with board-certified plastic surgeons, as they will have the most training and experience.Best of luck to you!

Answer: Shock after a rhinoplasty First of, please stay calm. You are 9 days after a rhinoplasty. Many patients read on the web about hard skin and soft skin and so many other things. You are swollen. Let Mother Nature do her thing. Rhino patients take weeks to months to settle down. Another factor in this whole process is the concept of self. You and your brain have an expected image of self. When you see yourself in the mirror, your brain has not had time to recalibrate. Rhinoplasty patients frequently don't recognize themselves and cause themselves mental distress in the first few days after a rhino. In sum, please give your body, your brain, and your nose some time to heal and do not make any rash decisions.
