Thanks for your question. The answer to this is individual and will depend on factors such as the shape of your breasts, the amount of donor fat that you have available, what you wish to achieve and the surgical risks that you are willing to accept. Book a consultation with a plastic surgeon specialising in aesthetic breast surgery and get a face to face assessment.
I appreciate your questionI perform a natural breast augmentation with fat. This can be removed from any unwanted areas including the breast itself as part of my lipo-lift procedure. I perform the fat grafting in multiple planes including under the muscle to give the best, most natural enhancement. Fat grafting is a great solution for someone who wants to bring their breast size up a cup or so and use natural tissue vs an implant. However, it can also be combined with an implant or used as a secondary procedure to fill in areas that are flat or thin. It should not affect nipple sensation, mammograms, cancer risk or breast feeding. It can be a little lump or hard at first but tends to soften over time. If you gain or lose weight, the transferred fat can do the same. The best way to assess and give true advice would be an in-person exam. The autologous breast augmentation is carried out in the context of an uplift and it requires adequate amount of breast tissue for your aesthetic goals. Fat transfer would add to the volume of your breasts. Those 2 are not necessarily mutually exclusive, in fact very often they are offered in conjunction with each other. A thorough consultation will help understand more and discuss your concerns.
The answer to your question depends totally on the person, so to answer it in your case you would need to attend a consultation and be examined. Auto-augmentation is great in that it uses droopy tissue to create breast volume where you want it, and you won't lose any of the volume like in fat grafting, as it is your own healthy living tissue resculpted to resemble a breast implant (see my video on this if you have a strong stomach, as it shows the surgery itself). On the other hand, fat grafting is great if you don't have droopy breasts to start with and have a problem area elsewhere that would benefit from being a fat graft donor site, but you have to accept that around a third of the volume grafted will not last long term. And of course, there is no reason why you cannot have auto-augmentation AND fat grafting (that is our "Vegan Boob Job").
