I have been told on this site that I am a good candidate for BBL. I am wondering if there is any way to do this procedure safer? Maybe an ultrasound to see the artery and nerve and cannula? Injecting more superficially, closer to the surface? Would it be visible/give a bad result, would the fat die in that area without suf. blood flow? My understanding is that fat needs some blood supply to feed on but does it also need to be close to the arteries? I was wondering if hip/breast fat transfer is safer?

Answer: BBL safety The best way to maximize your results, and most importantly your safety, is to start with a well qualified Board Certified Plastic Surgeon (or equivalent for your country). It is one choice that should not only be based on cost. Good luck.

Answer: Is it possible to avoid BBL complications? Any surgery involves risks. Do everything to ensure that you are in good health and choose a board certified PS who has elite education, training, and experience in performing BBLs. The fat should be injected above the gluteus muscles and superficially under the skin into the fat and surrounding tissue of the buttocks. No fat should be injected into the muscle to all but eliminate the risk for fat embolus and death (although this rate is most probably not zero). Precise placement of the fat is necessary to help reduce the risk for fat pooling and resulting fat necrosis and/or infection.
