Abnormal hair growth after liposuction. What could have caused this?

In my practice, I have seen this abnormal hair growth in a few patients where we have either fat grafted or done liposuction to. The one thing all of the areas have in common is that they are in the garment for an elongated period of time. This is the only connection that I can seem to find. What does the garment have to do with it you ask? With friction hair doesn't seem to grow in certain areas. For example, men who wear a T-shirt that rubs on their arms in certain spots they will not grow the hair. If they were to stop wearing that style of shirt the hair will grow in the spot where the friction is no longer rubbing. 
Once my patients shaved and were out of their garment the hair never returned. It is only a select few I have seen this issue in, but it should resolve. If not, schedule a follow up with you physician for any medication changes or hormone changes that may have taken place.
