Thank you for your question. You can keep taking your vitamins till the time of the procedure except for Vitamin E and herbal supplements. Do discuss this with your Plastic Surgeon and follow his advise. All The Best !
Thank you for your question! You do not have to stop taking any of the vitamins you listed prior to surgery. It is important to stop any blood thinners such as ibuprofen, fish oil, weight loss supplements, hormones, including birth control, etc. I recommend discussing specific medication instructions with your plastic surgeon. Best of luck!
Thank you for your question. I normally recommend taking iron and vitamin c for 2 weeks before and a few weeks after and stopping everything else during that time. Each surgeon will have their own recommendations and protocol they would wish for you to follow. I would suggest speaking to your PS in regards to their recommendations. Best of luck to you.
We typically have patients stop all vitamins for 1 week before surgery. The ones you specifically mentioned may be okay to continue but problems can arises with doses, especially when multivitamins are involved.
Please check with your surgeon as everyone has their own preferences. I personally would not care if you took all these supplements up until the day of surgery. Best of luck.Emile Brown, MDBoard Certified Plastic Surgeon, Johns Hopkins & Harvard Trained

Thank you for your questions. In regards to when to stop medications prior to surgery, you need to discuss that with your surgeon and the anesthesia provider at the surgical facility. Best of luck!Dallas R. Buchanan, MD, FACSOwner & Board-Certified Plastic SurgeonVIVIFY plastic surgery
Every doctor has their own protocol. In general, a standard multivitamin will not affect your result. However, high levels of certain vitamins like Vitamin E, or herbal medications, etc, may hinder the surgery. Most plastic surgeons have their own protocol on what you can take and what you cannot take. It is best to always run your medication list by your surgeon in preparing for your surgery.
Every surgeon will have a slightly different recommendation when it comes to vitamins before plastic surgery. Some warn that certain vitamins and herbal supplements could increase bleeding and swelling during the procedure. Always talk with your board certified plastic surgeon about what supplements you are taking and how to prepare for your procedure.
Thanks for posting. Tumescent solution is usually a fluid that is mixed with lidocaine (numbing medicine), and epinephrine (for bleeding control). It is commonly used in most types of liposuction. Depending on the area being treated, it can be adequate enough to give you numbness in the area. Th...
Though an exam would be necessary, this may represent fat necrosis. This can soften over the course of 6 months to a year. These areas if larger or painful can be surgically excised. Contour irregularities can then be fat grafted.
It is recommended to wait 3-6 months before having another procedure done to allow enough time for the transfer spots to heal.
