8 days post Juvederm, my lips are plump in the mornings and then seem to deflate by 2pm. Should this be happening? (Photo)

Juvederm can cause a fluctuation in swelling over time.  This usually improves by 3-6 weeks after injection.  If it doesn't, you should consider more filler or have it reversed and doing another type of HA filler like restylane silk or perlane.  Best, Dr. Emer

You are still experiencing swelling which is more noticeable in the morning as you are laying flat through the night.  This subsides throughout the day as gravity helps to diminish the swelling.  If you like the look in the morning, then more product may be needed to get the look you want.

When you are recumbent, the venous and lymphatic pressure in your head and neck are a little higher than when you are standing, so any tendency for fluid retention in the connective tissues will be more significant. Yes, this appears to be a very normal reaction.  The morning swelling should subside and about 2-3 weeks and then you can see where your final result lies.  If it is not enough for your liking, then you may opt to get more, but I would definitely wait a good 3-4 weeks before making that decision.

This type of swelling is very common within the first few days after lip injections but usually settles down. 8 days is more than the average but can occur. Swelling in the morning is very common and the result of lying flat at night and is more pronounced after surgery or treatments. As the day goes on the swelling tends to subside. With time a baseline should occur such that your lips remain fairly even throughout the course of the day.
