I had 3cc of Juvederm Ultra Plus injected into my small lips and you can't even tell. Are my results normal? (Photo)

 Thank you for your question and for sharing your photos. You may want to consider a lip shortening procedure, as this will help to evert the upper lips, and develop more lip show. 

This is rare.  I suggest you see an expert who uses cannulas.  there are a variety of factors that would play on this results.  A second opinoin is best.  Dr.Emer,

Hi Mrs P.  It's hard to explain as usually 3 CC's is quite a large amount for the lips.  You should attend the checkup, voice your concerns and then see what the outcome is.  Usually our patients that do lip injections will need no more than 2 CC's.  To see an example of the lip injections, click on the link below.  

That is very surprising that 3 syringes of Juvederm wouldn't create more improvement. I do see more definition in the lower lip line but not a lot of volume has persisted. You do have a very thin upper lip and you might require a lip lift procedure to see a significant improvement in the imbalance present in your lips. Are you absolutely sure 3cc's were placed?  That is a large about of Juvederm to put in the lips and you should've seen more than a significant amount of improvement.  If you saw a board certified doctor, you should return to them and express your concerns.  

Three cc's of Juvederm Ultra Plus is more than the typical amount used and should give more fullness than you demonstrate.  Some individuals do metabolize it quickly.  You should return to your physician and discuss your concerns.

Hi Mrs.PantsThank you for your question and pictures.  I am sorry that you are not happy with your results. You can see a little improvment on the upper lip with your injections.  It is always best to start conservative on any type of injection especially if its your first time doing so.  Its easier to go back in and get more so you dont do to much all at once.  Your upper lips is alot smaller than your bottom.  You might need more injections.  Some patients can take 2-3 syringes to get their desired look.  My best advice would be to follow up with the doctor who injected you to express your concerns.  Best regards

Hi, 3cc's of filler to the lips is a large amount.  If you don't see the volume increase that you're looking for you may want to consider a lip implant.  Hope this helps.
