Is it possible to get surgery to move my left eye up to be more even with my right eye? An implant on my left orbital floor, perhaps? My uneven eyes are causing me to be depressed and feel really self concious and i'd do anything to look ''normal'' and have more symmetry. I am having trouble uploading photos, but one eye is noticeably higher than the other, and it looks a little deformed. Is this type of surgery possible?

Answer: Uneven eyes One of the problems with moving eyes is that you can give a person permanent double vision. I wouldn't recommend this surgery for you. You shouldn't be feeling depressed and self conscious about this. Go talk to your primary care doctor and get a referral to handle the depression. Then, once you are working on this, go see an esthetician to help you work on your appearance. Many people think that they need surgery for something when really all they need is appearance techniques.

Answer: Orbital surgery; Is it possible to get surgery to move my left eye up to be more even with my right eye? Hello Angelsinthecity,What you are asking about is possible. But just because something is possible does not mean it should be undertaken. There are very large surgeries designed to move the position of the orbit. This type of surgery is reserved for those patients who have had trauma to the face or birth defects creating facial abnormalities as there are many risks associated with it. With regards to what is bothering you, it is very common for the face to not be completely symmetric. It is more common than not for asymmetries to be present. This may be a cheek that is higher, a nose that is slightly off giving the illusion that your eyes are at different heights, a mouth that is turned up to one side, etc. Although it would not be my recommendation to proceed with anything based on your description, if you would like an evaluation I would recommend you consult with an oculoplastic surgeon, a facial plastic surgeon, or a craniofacial surgeon to discuss these options. I hope this helps and good luck.
