Can a person who had surgery on strabismus do eyelid surgery? (Photo)

I am 26 years old and I had surgery on my left eyes for strabismus. Can I have any procedures on my eyes? I don't like how my eyes look due to droppyness. So what would you recommend? I also thought of botox but I read that they can make eyes even more droopy.

You can have eyelid surgery after strabismus surgery. However you have absolutely no drooping of the upper eyelid.  You do have a  fairly heavy brow, and the low brow may be what you don't like.  Some Botox/Dysport placed correctly can elevate the brow and make the eye appear less hooded.

Thank you for your question.You can absolutely have eyelid surgery after strabismus surgery.  Eyelid surgery is working with the skin and muscles that move the eyelids, it does nothing to the muscles that move eye itself.  At 26 I would recommend contacting a surgeon in your area for a Botox evaluation.  Botox if injected to the correct muscles will help to elevate the brow and open the eyes for you.  You are correct that in some cases it can make the eyes droopy.  That is why it is important to contact a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon, so that you know they are trained properly and know where to inject to get the proper result.  Good luck.

Yes, you can have eyelid procedures and/or surgery with a history of strabismus surgery in the past.  However, strabismus surgery in some cases can cause a change in eyelid position, and so it would be advisable to make certain that your strabismus issue is stable before having any consultation for eyelid surgery.  Injectable procedures should have no bearing on any prior strabismus issues.  Skillful Botox injections performed in between the brows and in the Crows feet areas can have a brow lifting effect to open up the eyes and may give you a significant improvement without having a more invasive surgery at this time.
