I had a mole removed recently as it's look changed. A week later the doctor called me and told me it was not cancerous but came back as severely abnormal with clear edges. What does this mean? The doctor wants to cut more even though it's not cancerous just to be safe. Is this necessary?

Mole excision extends through the skin but not down to the level of muscle. That is deeper and untouched. It is not uncommon to have some soreness after a mole removal particularly in an area that is constantly moving such as your back, between your shoulder blades. It is encouraging that...
It is recommended to let the spot heal without a band aid on it. If the biopsy results came back clear and no further work is necessary, the healing process may be slow-but nothing to worry about.
