Should a muscle be sore after a mole is excised?

Mole excision extends through the skin but not down to the level of muscle. That is deeper and untouched.  It is not uncommon to have some soreness after a mole removal particularly in an area that is constantly moving such as your back, between your shoulder blades. It is encouraging that the provider feels that everything is healing well after your first follow up visit. If you continue to be concerned you should return to your provider.
