Should I go for fat grafting or a lip lift. I want permanent results.
Answer: Lip Lift There are surgical and non-surgical approaches to lip augmentation. Non-surgical approaches include botox (slight lift, reducing gum show) and filler (volume restoration). Surgically, you can have two separate incisions under the nose (italian), one incision under the nose (bull horn), one incision at the red/white upper lip junction (gull wing) or two separate incisions at the corners, or a combination, depending on your desired look and anatomy. My preferred surgical technique is called the Elelyft, which is a version of the bullhorn approach. The ideal candidate for the Elelyft, or upper lip lift, is someone with a philtral length of 13mm or longer, no upper dental show, and/or a thin upper lip. The nasal base to mouth width ratio needs to be taken into consideration to avoid leaving the lip corners down. I would recommend additional photos with your mouth open as well as profile pictures to determine truly if you are a good candidate but if so a lip lift can give you that desired effect. Answer: How to get that additional sow of my red lip? The pictures are showing you doing exactly what a lip lift could do for you, as you are lifting the vermillion border. In addition to the better upper lip, vermillion show, the lip lift will improve your upper teeth show and shorten the distance between your nose and the lip. These are all positive aesthetic changes. Filler and fat grafting will only make your red upper lip bigger and they would have to be repeated. It would be good to at least get a virtual consultation with a plastic surgeon who performs this procedure on a regular basis to find out if you are a good candidate for the procedure.

Answer: Lip lift What you describe is a lip lift. A lip lift does 4 things: shortens the distance between your nose and upper lip, increases the mucosa of the upper lip, increases the incisor show and pulls up the corners. The procedure takes less than 1 hour to perform under local anesthesia and costs $3,000. Best Wishes, Gary Horndeski, M.D.

Answer: Fillers Can Define Lips & Create A More Sensuous Lip Pout The photo suggests that filler placed along the upper lip vermilion border (the border between the white and red lips) would give the eversion of the upper lip you are achieving by pulling up in the photo. For this I would use Belotero Balance. And Juvederm Ultra Plus XC could be placed within the body of the lower lip to create an even more sensuous fullness and pout and maintain harmony between the upper and lower lips. Make sure to seek consultation and treatment by a board certified aesthetic physician and ask to see his/her personal befores and afters before agreeing to proceed. Best of luck.
