Would liposuction on my waist help me achieve an hourglass shape? (photo)

Question

I've always had quite a blocky abdomen, and since I'm planning to go into surgery to get a breast augmentation, I was wondering if at the same time I could remove some fat from the sides of my waist to give me the illusion of having some hips? Could I be a candidate for this? Or am a too lean for this to achieve anything worthwhile? Thanks

it is hard to tell for sure without an examination. If you have extra fat on your flanks, then you might be a candidate for liposuction. If you are considering surgery, I would suggest you consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination, you will get more information and recommendations.

Thank you for your question. You appear to be very thin, with a flat abdomen and a small amount of fat in your flanks and hips. You can have liposuction to your flanks, but it may not achieve the results that you desire.

I do not believe liposuction will do much to improve your shape. If you are not planning future pregnancies, I recommend abdominoplasty with mesh reinforcement. The mesh creates a more hourglass figure by compressing the abdominal wall resulting in early satiety and helps maintain a reduced weight.

Your one photo does not show all your flanks. but what is seen could be treated with liposuction. Please discuss this with your surgeon.

Hi, thanks for your question and photo. According to the pic, you don't need a Liposuction because you don't have fat deposits, and you can't go for a fat transfer to the buttocks. The best way to get a curvy silhouette is butt implants, similar to breast implants. You can have great results! Consult a board-certified plastic surgeon in your area. Good luck!

Based on the photo provided it doesn't appear there is much excess fat to remove to create more of an hourglass figure.  An in person evaluation is needed for the best recommendation.  Speak with your surgeon about your interest in liposuction.
