I am a 23 year old who got a BBL in Ecuador. Not only that but also a breast augmentation. My surgeon also gave me ab lines. However... it came out looking horrible in my opinion. The left side looks amazing. The right however looks horrible. i feel like i was not a good candidate for this. After getting this done i was not eating healthy. I did gain weight. However i have lost weight and I've been getting treatments for my stomach but it has not helped at all. Please help me...

Answer: Abdominal etching I don’t know if you live in Ecuador or in another country but I typically do not recommend anybody travel long distances for elective surgical procedures. Patients who do tend to not appreciate the importance of having multiple in person consultations while in advance of having surgery, the number of patients who have serious concerns or need revisions after surgery, the importance of postop visit or that complications actually do happen. Personally I don’t believe in doing etching or high definition Liposuction. It really looks natural and even if it can look impressive young low BMI healthy male patient it is a set up for disaster if anybody ever gains weight or develops skin laxity due to age, weight fluctuations or future pregnancies. Etching is irreversible and cannot be corrected. For all these reasons it is a technique that I do not perform and do not recommend. It has been a current trend that’s been promoted by in particular one plastic surgeon from Columbia who tends to speak at international meetings promoting this as being the gold standard. i’ve seen too many people be disfigured from providers attempting to imitate his results to care for. Purposely leaving fat or removing excessive amounts of fat to mimic muscle definition in my opinion does not look like someone who has defined athletic figures but often looks like badly done surgery. In the end each surgeon is responsible for the outcome and likewise each patient is responsible for the surgeon they choose. Correcting high definition Liposuction is close to impossible. Treatment options are to do further Liposuction or attempting grafting fat in the definition lines. both of these can make the situation worse and often do not fix the problem sufficiently though sometimes subtle improvements can be made. To make good progress may require multiple procedures. Revision Work is many times more difficult than primary body contouring so finding the most talented and experienced provider for this type of work goes without saying. To move forward if you’re interested in having surgery you need to schedule in person consultations with local board-certified plastic surgeons and see what each one has to say.
