How many liters of fat does it look like I have in my stomach area? I want to have a slim look and I'm not sure if I'll be able to achieve that with lipo 360. Do you think It'll be a noticeable difference and should I go through with it? Can most fat be removed? Do I need to lose weight? My BMI is 31.

Answer: You Should Have a Noticeable Change With 360 Lipo! Dear LSES, you have a body type that should respond very nicely to 360 Lipo. Although many surgeons prefer that you be at your optimal weight to have liposuction, many of us understand that waiting for weight loss can bring on additional stress when weight loss is challenging and you are already very unhappy with your contour. Feeling good about yourself is important to your self esteem and your emotional well being. Regarding your question about how much fat to remove, that is determined by safety regulations that limit the amount of fat that can be taken in one liposuction session. The current safety standard is to take no more than 4 liters ( around 8 pounds) of fat. There are also limits to the dosage of local anesthesia (the lidocaine numbing agent) that can be safely infused at the time of your procedure. This is based on mg/kg of body weight (an experienced surgeon knows this). I also believe that using MATFAS ( Modern Anesthesia Technique for Aesthetic Surgery) is safer because it avoids the use of gas inhalation anesthesia commonly associated with feeling unwell and groggy for days after surgery. MATFAS uses a combination of medications that leave your system quickly so your body can focus on healing and not clearing heavy medications. Another consideration is that you may need to have your procedure staged to obtain an optimal result (you need more fat removed than is safe to take at one session). Find a board certified plastic surgeon who has experience in patients with a BMI over 30. I hope this helped- Good Luck!
