Exparel is extremely safe when recommended dosing is not exceeded. Exparel is actually a form of a very common local anesthetic that is used every day and has been around for many years. The only difference is how it is manufactured. It is in a liposomal form that allows it to slowly take effect over several days. It can also be diluted to be spread out more for larger cases. Best wishes.
The recovery from Liposuction tends to be much easier than other surgical recovery’s such as tunmy tucks.I don’t believe it it’s possible to mix this medication with tumescent solution because it’s a lipid. Therefore it’s not an ideal form of local anesthesia to use for Liposuction. It would be better to use the base ingredient which is bupvicaine. We don’t have the same data in regards to safety profiles using this medication in very high volumes like when you lidocaine.Postoperative pain control after liposuction is fairly easy to deal with and can usually be managed by the use of ibuprofen.Best,Mats Hagstrom MD
