I have experience with Exparel for many years, Especially in abdominoplasty, Back lifts , Bra-line lifts and other large cases.I have recently calculated the dilution to use after liposuction and the method of application. This has approved to very very effective in diminishing post-operative pain in the first few days
there isnt a reason to use this for liposuction 360 even aggressive HD lipo VASER with renuvion, only if a tummy tuck was performed with diastasis repair would i say use this with the liposuction. Best, Dr. Emer.
Dear Neat536002,Exparel is a very safe medicine, which can significantly reduce the pain after surgery. If you are considering a surgery, I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations.Daniel Barrett, MDCertified, American Board of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
Exparel is extremely safe when recommended dosing is not exceeded. Exparel is actually a form of a very common local anesthetic that is used every day and has been around for many years. The only difference is how it is manufactured. It is in a liposomal form that allows it to slowly take effect over several days. It can also be diluted to be spread out more for larger cases. Best wishes.
The recovery from Liposuction tends to be much easier than other surgical recovery’s such as tunmy tucks.I don’t believe it it’s possible to mix this medication with tumescent solution because it’s a lipid. Therefore it’s not an ideal form of local anesthesia to use for Liposuction. It would be better to use the base ingredient which is bupvicaine. We don’t have the same data in regards to safety profiles using this medication in very high volumes like when you lidocaine.Postoperative pain control after liposuction is fairly easy to deal with and can usually be managed by the use of ibuprofen.Best,Mats Hagstrom MD

These are questions that should be asked to your surgeon because each patient is different and you need to know answers related to your specific case. Of course, a medical clearance is necessary before surgery and will determine if you are eligible. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer.
