Can I get lip fillers if I play the trumpet?

Question

Hey! I am currently a college student, I go to an out-of-state school so in order to get in-state tuition I play in the marching band. We typically have 2 hour practices daily and playing the trumpet uses a lot of pressure. I was wondering, does this have an affect on the injections?

Yes, you can get filler as a trumpet player. Keep in mind that there will be swelling for a few days after the injections. And also remember that the filler might dissolve faster if you are using your lips for vigorous activity such as trumpet playing. Consult with an experienced lip specialist for a complete range of options that are appropriate for your situation.

Yes you can, I would recommend considering a very natural filler vs fillers with higher risk of migration due to over-use while playing an instrument. I would assume that you may be at a higher risk for results "going away faster" due to over-use. Either way, you should be fine to get your lips done and play the trumpet.

Yes, you can undergo a lip augmentation with dermal filler if you play the trumpet, however, I would recommend scheduling the injections during an off week to allow your lips to heal properly. It is possible that playing the trumpet within a few days after the injections will increase swelling. Best of luck to you!

Most people are able to resume all pre-injection activities after a short period of recovery. I wouldn't recommend having injections and then going directly to practice. However, if you had injections on a Friday, I think you could return to playing your instrument by Monday. You may find it takes some getting used to the new volume in your lips, however!
