Follow-up question: 1cc in lips didn't last past 1 month. If I add 2cc, will it last longer? Would Juvederm last longer?

I'm going to clarify my previous question. I went to a plastic surgeon for lip filler. His nurse gave me 1cc of Restylane. I was fine with the results but after 1 month they had completely returned to their previous size. I have two questions: If I add more next time (2cc) will it last longer? Would Juvederm give me a better result? Basically what can I change so that it will last longer? Thanks!

Thank you for sharing your question. From the photograph, you lips look full enough. You can always add more to make it last longer, but then you won't look natural until the product dissolves. It's more important to have a natural appearance. An experienced doctor would know which product is best for your lips. Make sure you injector uses many types of filler products so the right one can be chosen for you. Good luck!

Thank you for your question, Most doctors will start with one-syringe to avoid overfilling. These fillers, (Volbella, Restylane, Juvederm) are good to create a symmetrical and full lip. PDO NovaThreads can also be used to improve shape and also provide lift. Fat or implants are a permanent alternative. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a facial sculpting expert. I encourage you to return to your injector for an evaluation.  Switching to a different filler may be beneficial as certain fillers are more viscous than others.  If you wanted more volume, you could also consider adding more product.

      There is a variety of things you can do to increase the duration of your lip filler. I would recommend switching products to see if that is the problem, you can add more product to begin with, and I would definitely recommend maintaining the injections. In my experience, lip filler can be somewhat transient in some patients. If patients continue to maintain their injections every few months, it seems to build on itself, giving you a longer and longer duration in between treatments. The product itself is very important too. I would discuss these concerns with your injector. Hope this helps.

There is not much difference between Juvederm and Restylane so that is not an issue.  You might want to get a second opinion from a board certified and experienced dermatologist for your next injection
