What works best for people who are on Biologics or have depressed immune system?

I am on Enbrel for my RA. I have had fat injections done on the back of my hands by a very good surgeon, but did not last more than a couple of months! I have also had Radiesse injected which did not last at all. I was told because of being on Enbrel they did not last and was recommended dermal fillers such as Restylane Lyft or Juvederm instead. How true is this?

biologics do not affect fillers or fat injections. I suggest you see an expert who does a significant amount of fat and filler injections.  Best, Dr. Emer.

You may want to try Restylane Lyft for your hand rejuvenation.  Being on Enbrel should not affect the results of your treatment.  I encourage you to discuss your treatment goals with your injector to ensure the appropriate amount is used.

Restylane Lyft is the first HA filler approved for treatment of the hands and it should be a good option for you. Biologics do not have any effect on filler longevity to my knowledge.

No biologic would affect the longevity of a filler. See a board certified dermatologist who is experienced in the use of Radiesse which is the treatment of choice for this area

All of the fillers you have mentioned, including fat should work quite well as long as the procedure is being done in an expert manner. Fat grafting does work very well for hand rejuvenation but the fat has to be selected from a proper location, it has to be properly processed and injected in a particular way for it to last. I would not give up on fat transfer and try it once again as long as you trust your plastic surgeon. Good luck from New York City plastic surgery
