Sculptra is a localized treatment that stimulates the production of collagen. It shouldn’t get into your bloodstream nor should it interact with a blood thinner like Xarelto. You are probably worried about bruising and bleeding because of the blood thinning effect of Xarelto. Surprisingly, filler patients on Coumadin or Xarelto seem to have the same incidence of bruising as patients not on blood thinners. The most bruising I see occurs in patients on fish oil. That said, it is prudent to take extra precautions in any patient on blood thinners. We can use a blunt tipped cannula rather than a needle, injecting slowly, and exiting the skin carefully. Theses maneuvers decrease the risk of bruising. We also offer pulsed dye laser treatment at no charge within 72 hours of your filler for any bruise. This helps them go away much quicker. So go ahead and try Sculptra. It is a wonderful filler that can help you replace lost volume and sculpt more youthful curves in your face. Please find a board-certified dermatologist to perform your Sculptra rejuvenation and do remember to mention your use of Xarelto; it’s important that your doctor know about any medications you take.
In my opinion, it would be fine for you to have Sculptra treatments while taking Xarelto. I would mention this to the physician who would treat you though.
Xarelto is a blood thinner; while it may increase one's risk for bruising with injections, it does not negatively affect Sculptra treatment otherwise. Consider asking your physician to use a microcannula (a blunt instrument) to deliver the Sculptra as opposed to a sharp needle; this may cut down on bruising. Post-treatment IPL (also called photofacial) or a pulsed dye laser treatment can help make bruising resolve more quickly. Good luck!
You may experience a slightly higher risk of bruising from the Sculptra injections. Otherwise, it should be safe. Taking Arnica and Bromelain supplements both before and after the injections can help with the swelling and bruising. Also, be sure to tell your injecting physician that you are currently on Xarelto.
Bellafill and Sculptra are both dermal fillers used for different purposes and with different active ingredients. While it's generally safe to have multiple dermal filler treatments, the timing between treatments may depend on several factors, including your individual treatment plan, the areas...
Yes, it is possible to overdo any filler procedure, however in your case, in the location described, one vial is absolutely fine. The full effects of Sculptra will not be seen unit 4 months or so. Be patient, as you can always add to things. All the best, Dr Davin S. Lim. Brisbane. Australia.
Thank you for your question. By your description you would most likely benefit from a breast lift combined with implants. Use of Sculptra for breast augmentation would be an "off-label" use. To see a one cup increase in size would likely require 25-30 vials in each breast. At an average charge...
