Is there a link between dermal fillers and cancer?

I recently saw a BAAPS article from 2023 regarding a possible link between HA fillers and cancer. I then went down a rabbit hole off other articles stating the same. I've had filler for the past few years and am now in a total panic about this. Could you please comment on this subject? Thank you

If there is remaining filler present you can consider dissolving it in hopes of improving the malar edema. This is a difficult issue to treat. You may have some improvement with Morpheus8 treatments.
HA fillers may be associated with a bluish discoloration in the under eye skin. This is called the Tyndall effect. In our practice, we utilize microdroplet Silikon-1000 to fill in lower eyelid grooves for a smoother under eye appearance. I hope this helps! Sincerely, Dr Joseph
It is possible that what you are noticing is migrated filler from your most recent injection. I encourage you to return to your injector to discuss your concerns. You can elect to have the filler dissolved if desired.
