Sizing help!! 250 CC or 300 cc silicone? (Photo)

Question

Hi! I am schedule for surgery next week and getting nervous about the size! I’m very athletic and also built in a small frame. I am a A cup if I’m lucky and so scared to go to big. I am about 5’1 and 105 lb. My doctor think 300CC will compliment me, but I’m getting worried it may be too big and wondering if I should go down to 250cc. I will show the picture of me now and what I like. What do you recommend for my size. Thank you so much!

It is not unusual for patients to question size prior to surgery. Most patients, who are undecided wish they had gone larger. Make an appointment to try on implants prior to surgery. Best wishes!

After I measure and discuss goals with my patients, we then look at pictures of women (my patients) with similar measurements with different size breast implants. They also get to see what they would look like when the breasts have fully dropped and fluffed and in clothes. breast implant type and sizing selection is a complicated process and requires a detailed consultation that includes a discussion of your goals, a detailed examination, and a lengthy discussion. But the decision will always start and end with the patient. When it comes to sizing, we have all of our patients find 3 photos of their desired breast size. We ask for naked breast photos because clothing can obscure the true size (push up bras). Next, we consult with patients and go over the photos and take detailed breast measurements during a physical exam. Next, we using a sizing algorithm to determine a range of implants that will work based on the exam and the measurements.Lastly, during the operation, we use silicone sizers in the operating room to see how the size actually looks in the breast. We sit the patient up in the operating room, while asleep of course, and compare the sizer result with their desired look photos. If it is too small, we start the process over with a slightly larger implant. We don't stop until we get the perfect match.Of all of my breast augmentation patients, every one of them has been happy with their size due to this detailed and meticulous process. You don't want to invest time and money into a result that is either too big or too small.You should discuss your concerns with a board-certified plastic surgeon and make sure that your surgeon understands your goals.

Implant sizes are determined based on your preferences but also certain measurements that we take as plastic surgeon, such as chest width, etc. Also, implants Also depends on what profile you choose. Both sizes should give you a natural look!

Thank you for the sizing question. It is very important to feel comfortable with the size you choose. In our office, we have patients try on a sizing system to find what they desire. I would recommend trying on 250cc and 300 again. If the 300cc feels too large, size down. There is typically a 275cc option as well. To note: there is not a significant projection difference between 250 and 300cc so you really need to feel mentally comfortable with the number as well.

Having breast augmentation can be lovely, however there are repercussions. Number one the breast skin stretches number two your breast parenchyma which is your actual breast issue flattens out meaning it loses its projection. Number three the thinner you are the more at risk you are for capsular contraction OR Hardening and visualization of of the implant.Given that you’re 5‘1“ and you currently appear to be in an A cup this will bring you to very full C cup or D size.. therefore, if you are athletic and want to appear more natural and not have to go up a shirt size up to you should stick with 250 cc. To be truthful, everybody likes the swollen look after surgery and they like the big boob appearance and you get used to it very quickly however from experience, he will come back in 10 years, and wish you had gotten a little smaller. as a female and plastic surgeon, I would opt to go for the 250 cc.

Breast sizing is based on the dimensions on the breast (not just patient preference). As the implant volume increases, so does the width of the device. As the width increases, it can compromise the borders of the breast, increasing complications like implant displacement.

Hey, thank you for your question. 250cc and 300cc are so close I don't think you will see a huge difference. Based on your photos, you could do either. If you are really worried 300cc is too large, then going with the smaller size (250cc) will be perfect for a peace of mind; however, if you are one who wants to air on the larger side then go with the 300cc. Ultimately, they are so close that you won't notice a huge difference between them.
