Possible OHIP reimbursement?

I recently had a breast augementation, with a reduction and lift done to my right side. I was born with severe assymetry, and this was a corrective surgery. I had two different sized implants placed, and I am content with the results however I am now reading online that my surgery could have been covered by OHIP. Is there any chance my surgery cost can be reimbursed by OHIP? My doctor did not advise or inform me of this in any way, and I paid almost $13,000.

Based on our experience, it is very unlikely that insurtance would cover the expences of this surgery. However, you should ask your surgeon's office for copies of your medical records, including preoperative photos, and apply to you insurance for possible reinbursement. Hope this helps.

I think it is unlikely that insurance will pay. Most don't.

You can always file with your insurance unless you signed a contract to not file. (I'm not a lawyer so get professional advice).

Don't expect your doctor to file. That isn't their job with otherwise cosmetic work.
