Breast implants and lift with fibrocystic breast?

Question

I suffer from pcos and fibrocystic breast. I rreally want a breast lift with implants but around a week sometines even 2 weeks before ny period my breast get big and swollen and lumpy and painful then afger my period it goes back to normal, will i be able to have lift and implants with this condition? Will it affeect how they turn out. If i got it done after my period woulld the chaanges in my breast affect the healing process

Thanks for your inquiry, without picture and an exam it is hard to advise.  Discuss with your surgeon about a staged approach of lifting the breast with reduction of cyst volume and then delayed augmentation after several months, best of luck.

Unfortunately, you have not provided photographs or told us your bra size. However, the technique I recommend is The Bellesoma Method. This will reshape your breast tissue creating upper pole fullness without implants, elevate them higher on the chest wall and more medial to increase your cleavage. Vertical scars are avoided, nipple sensation (in 95%) and the ability to breast feed are maintained. Later, fat transfers can be performed if additional volume is desired.

Yes, you can still have breast augmentation with fibrocystic breasts.  You will want to have the surgery scheduled after your period when the breasts are least tender.  Talk with your surgeon and breast specialist about foods to avoid, like chocolate and alcohol, to avoid flare ups.

The lift and implants will not change your hormonal responses and cysts in your breasts. However, I would suggest having the surgery when your breasts are the least swollen and painful. You can do some diet changes and use vitamins and herbs to help rebalance your hormones.  Please look into doing this for better long term health.

Fibrocystic breasts are quite common. You should be able to undergo breast lifting with implants, especially since you stated that your breasts revert to normal feeling breasts after your period. It may be helpful to have a pre-op sonogram of your breasts to serve as a baseline. you should consult with a Board Certified plastic surgeon. Good luck!
