Picked off a flat brown mole above lip now it’s red/pink and regrowing. What can I do? (Photo)

I’m not sure exactly how long it’s been but I think it’s been a couple of weeks since I picked it off. The scab fell off on its own and the skin was just a light pink. Now it’s almost red and I can see a little brown speck that seems to be the mole growing back. How can i make it stop regrowing and clear up the pink-redskin around it? (first pic is before i picked it off, 2nd pic is maybe a week after i picked it off, last 3 is how it looks now)

I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a cosmetic dermatologist. Moles can be removed with laser, radiowave or shave. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer

By scratching off the raised part of the mole you removed only part of the mole. The deeper cells that make the pigment (the brown color) are still present. You may have caused some scar formation with your removal, but it will likely resolve and the mole will return. If you want the mole removed for good it is best to have a surgeon remove the mole. The surgeon will remove it fully so it won't be able to grow back.
