Can a mole regrow back after cryotherapy after just hours of the mole falling off? (Photo)

I got my mole removed by using cryotherapy about a week ago. It finally came off this morning and it was small and black. A few hours later I noticed the area started to cause some pain. So I reached over to touch it and now it feels like I’m growing a new mole! Is that even possible? Just hours of it falling off?

Hi, you have a great question. To answer your question directly - no, it is unlikely the mole grew back only hours after cryo, more likely, the area is swelling significantly. In addition, I doubt that cryo would reach the base of the mole sufficiently, so likely only the surface of the mole fell off. Give it some time. Let the swelling reduce and re-assess. You may have to consider a full surgical excisional biopsy in order to assure that you fully got rid of it. Good Luck, Dr Eric Shreder - Full Circle Health

It is not a good idea to treat moles with cryotherapy as it will always leave the deep elements of the mole in place; this is what you are seeing. When removing moles, it is important to remove the entire mole with an incision.
