Botox is usually not injected into the lips. Injection of the vertical lines above the lip takes about 2 to 4 units. So the cost isn’t much. The cost per unit will vary from location to location. Average cost per unit can range from 9 dollars per unit up to 15. In some places it could be lower or higher. It depends on the city you are in.
Hi, my experience with botox in the lips has been that it does not do as much as you need and hyaluronic acid fillers (Restylane / Juvederm) are the best thing for around lips, Restylane Vital is also a great filler if you have fine wrinkles and don't want the lips to be plumped up hope this helps, do keep me posted warm regards Dr Prashant Murugkar
Botox is one option to help soften the lip lines that you have however I think that you would be better served with a filler such as Vobella or Juvaderm. These can help to fill up the fine lines and give you a little bit better lip shape while the Botox can help keep you from re-creating the fine lines. I would suggest talking to a board certified plastic surgeon who is familiar with these techniques. As far as price of Botox is concerned depending upon your area will find it anywhere from 10-$17 per unit. Best of luck, Dr. Boschert
Good afternoon and thank you for your question. First it would help to know what it is that you want to accomplish. To make the lines around your lip a litte less visible, Botox could be an option, however, there are other options that could be better for you such as Juvederm Volbella (hyaluronic acid dermal filler) that is specifically designed to smooth the appearance of vertical lip lines. You can also consider to add some volume and definition for the lips. To answer your question about the cost, Botox is between $14-16 per unit and Volbella around $450 per syringe, depending of the area and the injector expertise.
Pricing varies by location and injector experience. Typically, 4-8 units of Botox or an equivalent amount of Dysport is used to soften vertical lip lines and to slightly evert the lip. In my area, the pricing ranges from $12-17 per unit of Botox.
Hello, Sandra. My expert injector usually recommends to use dermal fillers to treat lips instead of Botox. Dermal fillers will add the desire volume to your lips and give you a smooth look.
Botox is used to produce a lip flip or more pouty lip as well as treat vertical lines on the upper lip. the dose is usually very small but it takes a skillful injector so be sure you see an experienced board certified dermatologist
Botox and other neuromodulators can be injected in the lips for two reasons: for vertical lines or "smoker's lines" or to evert the lips and make them appear fuller. There are many injection techniques from 2 points to several micro-injections. Either way there is a limit on the dosage in order to avoid unpleasant side effects. Even the smallest doses can pose a problem in those who play certain instruments like brass, harmonica etc. The doses are from as little as 2 units per lip to 6-8units. It is much smarter to start with a smaller dose. To achieve perfect effect, Botox must be placed in very particular areas. Good luck!
A few units injected into the lip lines on the upper lip might soften the appearance of these. Botox is not injected into the lips themselves. You might be thinking of filler for the lips.Whilst filler to the lips and botox to the lipstick lines would enhance the lip area you might want to consider something to improve the shape of your face overall. The jawline is an important part of the face and a nice tight jawline keeps us looking young. Losing weight and drinking less alcohol in general allows the jaw line to thin down and can take years off the face. Otherwise radiofrequency treatments to shrink the tissues and reduce fat. Coolsculpting also has a small dead that will fit under the chin and reduce the fat. Aqualyx and/or Kybella would also work for this area. A small effort can have amazing results.
Using Botox to soften up the vertical lines of the upper lip is a great procedure. The amount of botox required is also extremely small, anywhere from one to three units. That would imply that the treatment should be extremely inexpensive, but at the same time the price of which depends on the area in the country where the treatment is being provided. Good luck from New York City
