Do I need a lift with implants or just implants? (Photo)

Although a side photo would help, from the front it looks like your nipples are located below your breast fold. This would make a lift suitable for you.

After I measure and discuss goals with my patients, we then look at pictures of women (my patients) with similar measurements with different size and style breast implants. They then get to choose what looks right for them. They also get to see what they would look like when the breasts have fully dropped and fluffed and in clothes. You get to see actual results and the surgeon's experience and not a virtual idea of what can be achieved. Women tell me that this process is very helpful in determining what size and style breast implant is right for them. Mildly Sagging Breasts: If your breasts are mildly droopy, a saline or silicone gel implant placed behind the pectoral muscle might help create the illusion of perkiness. That’s because as the implant fills out the top of the breast, it also fills out the bottom, making it look as if the nipple has moved higher. It hasn’t. If your goals are to have high, perky, youthful breasts, than a lift would be suggested, If added volume is your primary goal and you can accept the breasts being lower on your chest, then you may want to defer the lift to avoid the extra surgery and scars.

The technique I recommend is a mini lift. Using a circumareola incision, your breast tissue is reshaped, elevated higher on the chest wall and more medial to increase your cleavage. At the same time, fat transfers or small implants can be placed totally submuscular.

Easier not to do the lift and less scarring. However to really get your breasts right you need a lift. I would do a lollipop lift. It’s a trade off. If you want a better shape get the lift.

determining whether you need simply a breast augmentation versus a breast lift can be somewhat complicated. It depends on a number of factors including skin laxity and current nipple position. Generally speaking, if the nipples are lower than the inframammary line the patient will most likely need a breast lift. If the nipples are at or above the inframammary line we can generally get by with just a breast augmentation depending on the size of the implant the patient wants. I often still using implant when I perform a breast lift because it provides more upper breast fullness after the lift. To be sure a consultation with a board-certified plastic surgeon will help determine what the patient actually needs.

Confusion is understandable, you appear borderline, especially on the left or higher side.

If you want very high and perky breasts, then a lift with implants would be best.

If you are ok with a more natural, lower look, then implants without a lift would avoid those additional scars. Larger implants placed dual plane or totally above the muscle will give best results.

It’s a personal choice based on your goals and should be further discussed with your/a plastic surgeon until you feel comfortable.

Hi, thank you for sharing your question. Although the view on this photo is limited, it appears that a dual plane breast augmentation will be adequate to give you an excellent result.

You posted only one slanted photo that does not give the full view with you standing straight, so it is hard to say exactly what you need. However, I suspect a lift would be beneficial along with implants. Please post photos that show you standing straight from the front and side views, and have someone else take them so your arms are not raised.

Good day and thank you for your question. To answer your question, I think it’s best to address your goals. If you are happy with the size of your breasts while wearing a bra then a lift alone will suffice. If however you would like your breasts to be larger even when wearing a bra then implants are advised. A breast lift will address a low nipple position. In your situation, I think and lift with implants would work best. Good luck with the rest of your journey.
