I have been diagnosed with Dercums Disease; can CoolSculpting help multiple lipomas?

This is because due to the shape of the applicator it will not be possible to target the lipoma specifically without also getting the fat. A better option maybe Kybella injections. Coolsculpting is great at treating soft subcutaneous fat, but is not a viable option for treating lipomas. Lipomas fall into their own category and although harmless, can be unsightly.  They are not uniform in shape or size, and cannot be targeted well for proper placement and effectiveness with the CoolScuplting applicators. Although I understand your concerns about invasive treatments, surgery would still be the best option for you. Good luck with everything!

Lipomas are different sizes and amorphous, therefore they aren't targeted well with a coolsculpting applicator. This would not be effective for your lipomas unfortunately. Surgical removal is still the best option. Hope this helps.

And so most people would be looking for 100% removal of their lipomas. In which case surgical removal maybe the best option. Not even VASER is great at this.

Unfortunately this is not a proper use of Coolsculpting. I would look into other avenues of removal.  Hope you can find an acceptable solution.

Coolsculpting would not be the treatment of choice. Years ago liposuction was also done for lipomas but I have seen these recur. Lipomas generally require direct excision of  the entire tumor  to prevent recurrence. Kybella is fairly new to the US market but has been used in Europe to treat excess fatty deposits. I would research your area to find a surgeon with experience in using Kybella.

From your description of your problem and how the CoolSculpting technology and applicators work this would not be a good approach to your problem. In lieu of surgery speak with a plastic surgeon who uses Kybella. Kybella has been developed to dissolve fat under the chin and using for reducing/dissolving lipomas would be considered an "off label" treatment however their are some who currently use it in this capacity and are having good success. Unfortunately, Coolsculpting would more than likely not be the solution for your lipomas at this time. Due to the size and shape of the applicators, it would not be possible to target the lipoma specifically without also getting the fat surrounding it. You may consider having a consultation with a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon to discuss the possibility of using Kybella injections into your lipomas. (it was originally indicated for the fat beneath the chin area but we have had some great success with lipomas as well)  Best of luck.
