What happens to the capsule after silicone chin implants are removed?

I understand that silicone chin implants have a capsule that forms around them (that makes them easier to remove). If you remove the implant, what happens to the capsule? Does it gradually dissolve? Just collapse and lie flat? Fill with scar tissue?
